So I have been in Tanzania for about 15 hours now. I am really tired and would love to sleep but its the middle of the afternoon here. I passed the New Year in flight, over the Atlantic. The Amsterdam airport was interesting. It had really tiny bathroom: 3 stalls, 2 sinks, and barely enough room to move around. Also its doorway was open, and basically you could see into the Women's restroom just walking by. That did not stop a couple of women from changing in the outside the stalls anyway.
When flying from Amesterdam to Tanzania I got a view of the Alps. It was really cool. Mountain after Mountain covered in snow. Unfortunately, by the time the plane passed Kilimanjaro it was already dark out. My dad met me at the ariport. Fortunately, my experience through customs was good.
I did not sleep at all last night. Partly because I wasn't tired, but mostly because of the lizard. The Lizard seems to have been residing in my new room for quite sometime. I feel bad that I have to kick it out, but it must be done. My dad says that its more afraid of me than I am of it, but I still want it gone. I'm seriously considering getting a cat to help me with the problem. I'm hoping it moves out on its own accord.
I did end up sleeping once the sun came up, around 6.Only for a couple of hours, then I woke up so we could o and get a phone for me to use in Tanzania. Apparently, its common for people to have multiple phones with different Sim cards because its really expensive to call numbers from other providers.
Now I'm at my Dad's office and there are monkeys hanging out on the tree right by the window. My dad told me to watch out or they'll reach in and take my glasses. I still think I prefer the monkeys to the lizards.
